Bellville Historical Society Presents:
Join us on Sunday, May 17 for an engaging afternoon exploring the archaeology and early history of San Felipe de Austin and Austin County.
This month’s program features Dr. Sarah Chesney, also known as “Dr. Dirt,” who will present From the Ground Down: Archaeology in San Felipe de Austin and Austin County. Attendees will learn about the archaeological discoveries, artifacts, and historical insights that help tell the story of one of Texas’ most significant early communities and the surrounding region.
This presentation offers a unique opportunity to explore local history from the ground up while connecting with fellow community members who share an interest in preserving Austin County’s heritage. Whether you are a longtime supporter of the Bellville Historical Society or attending for the first time, you’re invited to come learn, visit, and enjoy an afternoon together.
This event is free and open to the public. Come for the history, and stay for the fellowship!
