Dr. Weeks will present “Surviving the Storm: The Tonkawa Tribe & the Civil War,” exploring the challenges faced by the Tonkawa people during this turbulent period in American history.

Dr. W. Dale Weeks is a historian specializing in Native American and African American history, with a focus on the Civil War era. He is a faculty member at Blinn College and the author of Cherokee Civil Warrior: Chief John Ross and the Struggle for Tribal Sovereignty.
